Police shooting: Family of Chris Kaba demand criminal investigation

Chris Kaba, 24, was fatally shot by a firearms officer from the Metropolitan Police shortly before 10pm on 5 September in Kirkstall Gardens, Streatham Hill, London. His death is now under investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct, and will be subject to an inquest in due course.

The family ask for privacy at this difficult time. They will not be undertaking any further interviews at this stage.

Migrant Media to produce radical new documentary on the Bradford 12

Migrant Media are pleased to announce that they are going into production on a radical feature length documentary about the seminal case of the Bradford 12, supported by the BFI Doc Society Fund (awarding National Lottery funding).

In 1981 twelve young Asian men were arrested and charged with terrorism for defending Bradford from an imminent racist skinhead attack. Following national and international protests in support of the defendants, and a tense lengthy trial, they were acquitted establishing the precedent of the right of organised self-defence for the first time in the UK. This is their story.

Daniel Morgan murder: No officers will face punishment, says watchdog

Every officer involved in the Daniel Morgan scandal will escape punishment, the police watchdog has announced, despite an independent inquiry finding that corruption in the Metropolitan police shielded the private detective’s killers with the force ignoring information.

Those escaping any action include the former Met commissioner Cressida Dick, who the inquiry accused of hampering its work.
