The mother of Mark Duggan, who was shot fatally by police, has described Wednesday’s report from the police watchdog clearing the officers of any wrongdoing as “another slap in the face” for her family. Pam Duggan said the family had cooperated with the Independent Police Complaints Commission, but had been “let down again”.

The IPCC report said Mark Duggan – whose 2011 shooting in Tottenham, north London, sparked the worst riots of recent times across cities and towns in England – was probably in the process of throwing away a handgun when he was shot.

Ex-Mountie convicted of perjury after Vancouver taser-death inquiry

A former Mountie who was involved in Robert Dziekanski’s death and was later held up by the force as an example of a bad apple within its ranks was convicted on Friday of perjury for his testimony at a public inquiry.

Former corporal Benjamin (Monty) Robinson was charged along with three other officers for their testimony at hearings that examined what happened when Mr. Dziekanski was stunned with a taser at Vancouver’s airport and died in October, 2007.

High-powered attorney calls for renewed investigation into Chavis Carter death

Tuesday night served as a call for a renewed investigation and more attention for the Chavis Carter case.

“When people feel like they cannot trust the local law enforcement authorities, they turn to the federal government to say we want equal justice too,” Benjamin Crump said at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro Tuesday evening.

Crump is connected to high-profile cases like Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown.

Carter’s family, now with Crump on the case, is cautiously optimistic that the Jonesboro Police Department will be properly investigated and reviewed.
