On a cold day in early 2003, two senior CIA officers arrived at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw to pick up a pair of large cardboard boxes.
Inside were bundles of cash totaling $15 million that had been flown from Germany via diplomatic pouch.
The men put the boxes in a van and weaved through the Polish capital until coming to the headquarters of Polish intelligence.

A prisoner on suicide watch took a fatal overdose just days after burning the initials DNR for ‘do not resuscitate’ into his chest, an inquest has heard.
David Ward, 45, was serving 18 years at Bullingdon Prison, near Bicester, for eight counts of rape and two of sexual assault on a teenage girl.
He had a history of mental health problems and, in August last year, used an incense stick to burn the initials in two-inch high letters into his chest. Although he was put on suicide watch, he was able to overdose on anti-depressants and pain medication.

The inquest into the death of Sarah Higgins at HMP Bronzefield concluded on 28 October 2013 with the jury finding that serious procedural failings and inadequate training contributed to her death.
Sarah died on 8 May 2010 aged 30. At the time of her death, Sarah had three children aged 5, 6 and 11. Sarah was discovered unresponsive on the floor of her cell shortly before 4.30 am by a Prison Custody Officer. Emergency resuscitation was unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at 4.48 am. A Kinder Egg containing various drugs was found in her clothing.
